First Post

Tomorrow I will be firing a load of earthenware.  I recently started working in the low fire range and it is a big adjustment.  Will my nails ever return to a normal color?  But I love the color of the clay an all the other color possibilities.

Baby Steps

I'm actually writing my first ever blog post. Prodded, encouraged, pushed and pleaded with by the techno vanguard of our little group, I have taken the plunge! Dragging myself away from my studio and the pieces waiting to be finished, I will attempt not to embarrass myself. The thought that these words will forever be floating in the blogosphere and may someday come back to haunt me is, to say the least, a little inhibiting. And so I begin with baby steps... Thank you Ellen.

Hello!

First post on a new blog. We are four friends who have been making and selling together since 2003. Our common obsessions keep us strong as a group, so we decided to form ‘Tomo Potters’ (‘tomo’ is friend in Japanese).

Our members are Cynthia Shevelew, Ellen Mulligan, Itsuko Ishiguro and Sandy Pancrazi.

Hopefully we will all post thoughts of our work, our days and our studio time.
